—Meet Eric—

 

Innovating IN CREATIVE MEDIA EDUCATION & PRODUCTION Since 1992

Eric T. Elder is a veteran of the video game, animation, and XR industries, with 30+ years of experience spanning production, education, and emerging technology.

He began his career as a 2D animator at MTV’s Beavis & Butt-Head before moving to Los Angeles to work on King of the Hill and The Simpsons. Alongside his work as a professional animator, he spent 15 years at The Art Institutes, first as an instructor and later as an Academic Director, where he built one of the most successful video game production training programs in the system

In 1997, he founded OW! (Online Worlds) Entertainment to develop virtual worlds for movie and TV properties. In recent years, he has focused on XR (Extended Reality), managing productions, designing pipeline models, leading game and experience design, and developing studio pitches for AR & VR projects based on major Hollywood IP.

Currently, Eric works as a Creative Media Consultant, specializing in designing training programs and production pipelines for animation, video games, and XR. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events, sharing insights on immersive storytelling, game development, and career strategy.

He is the Project Lead of the LA Game Project, where he is spearheading the implementation of new Game Development certificate programs across 15 Los Angeles community colleges. He is also leading the development of a new inter-campus esports league, fostering opportunities for the next generation of game creators and competitive players.
